Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

Rise before dawn for the most exhilarating wildlife encounter of the Ugandan jungle: chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest. Kazinga Channel Cruise & Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions

After breakfast, depart Kibale and drive south through the volcanic crater lake district to Queen Elizabeth National Park — Uganda's most biologically diverse protected area, encompassing savannah, tropical forest, wetland, and crater lake habitats within a single extraordinary landscape. The drive takes approximately 2 hours and the scenery becomes more dramatic with every kilometre.

Arrive in time for the Kazinga Channel boat cruise — a 2-hour journey along the natural waterway connecting Lake George and Lake Edward. The Kazinga Channel banks are home to the largest hippopotamus concentration in Africa, with hundreds of hippos wallowing at close range alongside your boat. Enormous Nile crocodiles bask on every exposed sandbank, while buffalo herds wade in to drink and elephant families move along the water's edge.
